Listen to this email
When my dad came to visit me for the first time in my apothecary in London, he said that if I poured all that you make here, all of these oils, balms on the side of a tree, another tree would grow. I must say, that was a proud moment for me 😃.
I have three rules when creating a new recipe, something new to care for the human body.
It has to be nutritious:
So nutritious that it would grow trees. It feeds, nurtures, and hugs the body—the temple.
It has to be the safest option I have ever seen:
No shortcuts, no manipulation of the human body. Our bodies see everything synthetic as an antigen and start producing antibodies to fight with it. But you need your body to defend you from that illness, that disharmony you have, or perhaps a stressful event that came out of nowhere, which requires all your energy. How will the body overcome all of these challenges life throws at us if a cosmetic product burdens the body? It can't. It has to be the safest option. Isn't it beautiful that the Earth itself offers the safest ingredients we need?
It has to work:
It has to do what it says. Thankfully, nature works. If we don't manipulate these plants and let them work inside the recipe as they are, they do the job. They do it well. The lip mask heals, the Sun Elixir protects from the Sun, Hair elixir grows hair. They do. Because, nature works.

Organic Botanical Eye Balm
Essential oil-free for extra safety. If it gets into your eyes, don't be surprised you might see better. You will learn in a minute why.
Dry & Tired & Red Eyes
Borage, a deep-acting nervine, says that I am for the human being who is run to death by responsibilities or runs themselves down with self-criticism and impossible standards. The natural silicon in me has a powerful rebuilding effect on the nervous system and endocrine systems. It is the remedy for adrenal exhaustion. Are your eyes tired, red, or perhaps dry? Let Borage take care of you. It has been used as an eyewash for centuries to heal dry, tired, red eyes.
Dark circles
The stasis of blood vessels. Blood flow slows down and pools in one area. As a result, you experience dark circles under your eyes. Arnica says my active ingredient, thymol, helps blood vessels to open up so that blood can move freely. I improve the circulation. Billbery said let me protect and strengthen veins and arteries while Arnica moves the blood. How could I say no? I didn't. Come in Billbery.
Fine lines
Collagen and elastin proteins are responsible for keeping skin stretchy and firm. As they decline, skin loses its flexibility. That is why you start seeing fine lines around your eyes.
The free radicals, unstable molecules found in our environment, and the air we breathe damage collagen and elastin proteins. Antioxidant plants are the solution to prevent this damage so the skin stays firm and flexible.
I have chosen a selection of antioxidants to capture everything that may be in the air we breathe in and the environment we live in.
Bilberry has the Petunidin, Malvidin and Resveratrol.
But Cranberry has Quercetin and also Resveratrol. Perhaps the conditions Cranberry lived in taught her something, and she created Quercetin to deal with life. I say we add Cranberry for her wisdom.
Comfrey has Allantoin. Green Tea has the polyphenols and Quercetin. Calendula has Apigenin and Flavonoids. Rosehip has Quercetin. Raspberry has Resveratrol.
I see a strong army here. I think we are covered. Free radicals, we are ready for you.
Generating new skin cells
That is Calendula. It has been used to heal wounds and broken skin by promoting tissue regeneration, reducing inflammation, and improving blood flow.
Puffy Eyes
Puffiness and inflammation are mainly caused by allergies. A foreign substance eyes are trying to get rid of. Plantain says that I am nature's drawing agent. I have to be inside this recipe. I draw out impurities so that the eyes can heal itself quickly. As a result, puffiness goes away. Plantain also says I have been used for poor vision and light sensitivity. If the balm gets into your eyes as you sleep, I will make sure to work my magic.
The rest of the plants? They say we will speak in another email.
1 or 2 products for each of our self-care needs. That is all I want. That is my vision. Why create confusion? I would much rather improve an existing recipe than create a brand-new product or a collection. I don't know about you, but I get confused when there are too many choices for the same need. Let's break this rule here—1 or 2 products for each of our self-care needs. All works, do what they promise.
And this one is for your "eyes".
Kids? They can use it, too, as everything in our store.
Let the plants take care of your eyes. Welcome to our family: The Botanical Eye Balm.
with all my love,
Ezgi
