Colours of The Rainbow on My Skin

Scientists say that if you break apart a sunbeam, you will find the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. These different spectrums of light are all found inside the white light of Sunlight (from infrared to ultraviolet).

It's 5 am. I open my eyes to catch the infrared light on my bare skin. The red light starts building Ez Water = energy in my body. The more I am exposed to the red light, the more my body turns the water I drink into energy. Remember the student from last week?

They say that mitochondria in my cells also get stimulated by the red light to produce ATP. What is ATP, you may ask? Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is an organic compound that provides energy to drive many processes in my living, breathing cells, such as my muscle contraction. My posture, my joints are stable thanks to the red light. Red light also stimulates the production of collagen on my skin. It speeds up the healing of my wounds, cuts and reduces scarring on my skin.

But some say, "Never leave the house without sunscreen in the morning". What about my Ez Water, my energy? My muscles? My skin healing?

It's already 7 am, and I see "blue light", the blue light of the sun. It regulates my circadian rhythm, my sleep cycle, it supports my eye sight.

But some say, "Never leave the house without sunscreen in the morning". What about my sleep cycle, the rhythm of my temple, my eyes?

Its noon. I see UVA light. My skin starts producing "melanin", my very own natural sun protector. Melanin absorbs light to split water molecules inside my body to make O2 for energy and H2 an antioxidant. Melanin is a type of pigment that gives colour to my hair, skin, and eyes. UVA also makes nitric oxide in my blood vessels, which vasodilates them and improves my blood flow - the life running in my veins.

But some say, "Never leave the house without sunscreen in the morning". What about my melanin? My antioxidant? My blood flow - the life running in my veins.?

It's 2 pm. I see UVB light. My body starts synthesising types of vitamin D which cannot be provided by a vitamin D3 supplement. Both UVA and UVB light also make serotonin (happiness) and dopamine (motivation) hormones in my body.

But some say, "Never leave the house without sunscreen in the morning". What about my vitamin D? My serotonin, my dopamine, my hormones?

Being human isn't easy. But what makes it even more difficult is playing with our biology. The gift that we have been given to live a healthy, energised, fulfilled life.

There is nothing scientific, there is nothing loving about insisting that "we are a piece of meat". How much proof do we need to trust in ourselves? How many lifetimes will it take? Does everybody have to suffer through a serious chronic illness to believe in themselves, the healing power of the body? Does everybody have to fall to their knees to give up on "persistent disbelief"?

It's already midnight. Sun is asleep, I am asleep to wake up to a day of "light".

with all my love,
