A deeply cleansing steam to bring immediate relief to irritated, inflamed or sensitive skin caused by a busy, restless mind and body. Made from all organic or wild-picked herbs and botanicals selected for their sleepy skincare benefits, this evening facial steam has been crafted to recognise the duality of night-time skincare rituals where the balance of mental wellbeing and restful sleep is just as important to the skin’s overall health as the skincare ingredients you use.

Sustainable Packaging & Refills

HOW TO RECYCLE

We love re-using this jar around the house. So please re-use instead of recycling. The product includes a 100% post-consumer recycled glass jar and recyclable Bakelite lid (derived from bio-sourced raw materials: 40% wood cellulose and 60% renewable elements like the air and water). The clear label is made of transparent vinyl and can be recycled as well. PVDC lining inside the cap is a water-based coating to preserve the shelf life of plants. It must be removed before recycling. Just soak the cap in some warm water and then peel it off.

REFILLS:

Refills are available on this product, so once you purchase your jar, you can send it back to us, and we will clean, sanitise and refill it for you again and again. Refills are currently only available within the UK.

Giving Back

We believe in a return to nature, centred around a sustainable cycle where we should only take what we can give back. That’s why every Earth To You order starts and ends its journey as a seed in the soil.

With the intention of revitalising arid farmland, we donate a portion of each sale to a programme called the Forest Garden Approach. Run by a charity called Trees For The Future, the 4-year programme gives farmers the skills they need to sustainably support their communities and grow thousands of trees. Every seed planted helps to reverse environmental degradation, restore biodiversity, and remove megatons of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. But more than that, Forest Garden Farmers gain access to income and food for themselves and their families, breaking the cycle of poverty and hunger. Just as the earth gifts us with healing and nourishing herbs and botanicals, we must give back and do what we can to protect the soils we come from. This sustainable approach to re-forestation brings valuable nutrients back to the soil, breathing new life and hope into over-farmed and arid lands.

How To Use

Pour hot, steaming water into a large bowl and sprinkle a handful of the dried flower blend into the water.

As the petals infuse with the water, take a clean towel and place over your head. Find a comfortable position and lean over the bowl creating a tent with the towel to contain the steam.

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and enjoy the calming, sleepy scent for at least 5-10 minutes.

When you’re ready to come back to reality, remove the towel and let the moisture sit on your face. Ensuring the infused water has cooled slightly, wet a bamboo face cloth in the bowl and use the infusion to wash the face and remove any impurities that the steam has drawn out.

Ingredients & Plant intelligence

HOPS

Hope is a vine native to Europe. A very powerful sedative that can calm an overactive central nervous system. In herbalism, it is used in conditions where there is sleeplessness, stress is associated with exhaustion from mental, emotional and nervous strain and over-excitement.

VALERIAN ROOT

Another powerful sedative that can be useful in insomnia resulting from stress and anxiety. It is especially powerful when mixed with Hops flowers.

CHAMOMILE

Chamomile is a member of the Rose family. It is a relaxant and antiallergenic. In herbalism, it is used in conditions where tension combines with heat - overstimulation, excitation and irritation, such as irregular redness on the cheeks or other areas of the skin. The polyphenols and phytochemicals in Chamomile are known to speed up cell regeneration and protect against harmful free radicals found in pollution. Chamomile also contains an antioxidant called apigenin which binds to specific receptors in the brain to decrease anxiety and initiate sleep.

LAVENDER

Lavender is a cooling relaxant, and it's very stimulating to the skin as well as antiseptic and helps clear away infections on the skin. In spiritual herbalism, Lavender is for "negative states of the soul" when the astral body grasps the physical body too tightly. The astral body is essentially identical to the autonomic nervous system, which relays impressions felt by the unconscious mind. So it is used when unconscious experiences cause the autonomic nervous system to clamp down too intensely.

ROSE

Rose is the personification of passion, but in the body, it reduces heat. It turns down the excitement in the limbic centre of the brain, which regulates passion. Therefore it is used for a cooling, calming effect on the skin and is beneficial to use for rosacea and similar skin conditions caused by autoimmune heat and excitation. Rose is also rich with antioxidants and has mildly astringent properties. It tightens the pores and gently tones the skin as well as strengthens skin cells, and regenerates skin tissue.

MUGWORT

Mugwort is a magical plant considered sacred by almost every culture and is traditionally burned and ingested in rituals.

"Mugwort opens up chambers of ancient memory within the brain, bringing to one's dream life stirring visions of past and future that overflow with magical imagery. The symbols that dance through your mugwort-touched dreams pull out the cobwebs of our forgetfulness and assist us in remembering old, unwritten ways of healing and living that attend to the needs of spirit and soul." - Judith Berger
