What is Gua Sha?
Body combing is one of the purest and most authentic forms of Gua Sha. First documented as a health care practice during the Ming Dynasty, it is actually believed that Gua Sha body combing dates back as far as the Palaeolithic age where people would use stones to massage the body and reduce the side effects of certain illnesses.
But Gua Sha is not just for the skin and body, it is also for the spirit. The ritual has been used for generations to rebalance qi, or energy flow, through the body. By targeting acupressure points along the body’s meridians, the massage encourages a deep sense of relaxation and calm.
As we live, our bodies are constantly responding to an internal-external exchange influenced by our immediate environment, and what touches our skin. While a variety of tools are used in Gua Sha, our Rose Quartz Gua Sha range is designed for specific areas of the face and body. The cool, natural touch of rose quartz, in combination with our oils, is a luxurious experience for your skin and spirit.
Why Rose Quartz?
Our Gua Sha tools are hand-carved by artisan crafters from sustainably sourced Grade A Rose Quartz.
Perfectly imperfect, this naturally formed crystal is believed to open up the heart space in order to promote deep inner healing and feelings of peace. Unlike glass or plastic, Rose Quartz is cold to the touch helping to awaken and refresh the skin.

Giving Back
We believe in a return to nature, centred around a sustainable cycle where we should only take what we can give back. That’s why every Earth To You order starts and ends its journey as a seed in the soil.
With the intention of revitalising arid farmland, we donate a portion of each sale to a programme called the Forest Garden Approach. Run by a charity called Trees For The Future, the 4-year programme gives farmers the skills they need to sustainably support their communities and grow thousands of trees. Every seed planted helps to reverse environmental degradation, restore biodiversity, and remove megatons of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. But more than that, Forest Garden Farmers gain access to income and food for themselves and their families, breaking the cycle of poverty and hunger. Just as the earth gifts us with healing and nourishing herbs and botanicals, we must give back and do what we can to protect the soils we come from. This sustainable approach to re-forestation brings valuable nutrients back to the soil, breathing new life and hope into over-farmed and arid lands.
A wellness tool to treasure a lifetime
A reminder to turn your attention to your senses and make that moment feel more special.
RELEASES FLUID RETENTION
Regular body combing disrupts the fascia underneath the skin to release excess fluid build-up that can lead to cellulite or swelling. In the scalp, this creates micro-pathways that allow stagnant lymphatic fluid to drain away from the face to reduce puffiness.
SUPPORTS SCALP HEALTH
Gua Sha massages the skin of the scalp to increase blood flow and stimulate the follicles by activating tiny muscles that contract and cause the hair to stand on end. This contraction causes the sebaceous glands to secrete the oil and sebum needed to nourish the root of the hair, helping it to grow longer, healthier, and thicker.
EASES TENSION
Energy in our bodies flows along meridian channels which all meet on the scalp. By targeting this area, Gua Sha has been used for centuries to release tension in order to alleviate headaches, insomnia and revitalise the mind and body.
How To Use
FOR SCALP & HAIR
Start by applying our Organic Scalp Mask using circular motions to massage the oils into the scalp.
With the comb, use gentle pressure to make slow, sweeping motions from the top of the forehead, over the scalp and down to the base of the head.
Repeat this motion 5 times in each position, moving your starting point from the centre of the forehead down towards the ear.
FOR BODY
Apply a generous amount of our Organic Jojoba Oil to the skin on the area you wish to massage.
Start on the right-hand side of the body and, with the comb, use gentle pressure to make slow, sweeping motions along the skin. The motions should flow sideways away from the spine or downwards away from the head.
Repeat the motion a few times, keeping your strokes long and steady. Then move to your next area to continue the massage. We recommend starting at the chest and then moving down to the arms, stomach, and legs.
Finish with a glass of room temperature water and some rest to let the body acclimatise and relax following the massage.
