Your Words : Jordan

Jordan approached us in May. He’d been managing severe eczema on his neck and body ever since he was a child - a chore that had become as mentally exhausting as it was physically.

Since then, Jordan has exercised such a level of patience with his new skincare routine that the results are truly something he should be proud of…

Even when the temptation to return to previously used high-street products kicked in heavily on the tenth day and his neck felt flaky and sore to the touch due to withdrawal from the harsh preservatives and chemicals often found in commercial skincare, Jordan resisted picking them back up and persisted in finding balance with breathwork and our Flow Daily Face and Body Ritual.

Understanding that he must address the root cause and help return his skin to homeostasis and balance rather than simply mask or “treat” the eczema, the absolute first step was for Jordan to reintroduce his skin to sebum oil production. Without sebum oil regulation, the skin has no way to hold onto hydration, leading it to become intensely dry and cracked.
Morning and night, Jordan began by just applying Raw Jojoba Oil generously (we recommend a large 250ml bottle if using for the body as well as face) everywhere his skin was affected. After a few weeks of seeing how his skin reacted to the oil, he then gradually added the Rose Mist and Face Elixir, as well as an additional layer of Organic Wild Forest Balm on top, which helps to better retain moisture and calm irritation. For seasonal adaptation, Jordan also used the Sun Elixir on both his face and body.

The older the eczema, the longer it took to shift. However, over time the products began to sit differently… In the beginning, Jordan’s skin would rapidly absorb the oil and balms, drinking it all in too fast before soon drying out again. Now, they slowly soak; working in balance with the body and a healthy microbiome to create a more natural, lasting moisture barrier and locking in deep hydration within the skin’s layers.

His eczema has now almost completely disappeared on his inner thighs and where the condition had originally looked drier and ashier in tone on his neck and arms, it now looks a softer, calmer pink.

For the first time in fifteen years, Jordan no longer uses a high-street cleanser and, slowly over time, he has replaced his eczema cream with the daily Flow Ritual outlined above (if you want to reduce a prescription cream, do it gradually and alongside your treatment, never all at once; always with guidance from your dermatologist).
