May Your Path Be Woven in Mercy

What do you do with your emotions?

The ones that are separate from love?

Do you take them outside? Do you hold the hand of fear, frustration, or sadness that has been torturing you at breakfast, in the shower—open the door—and start walking?

Don't have time to read? Listen to this email.

With them out into the world.
Can you be present with them?

If fear is telling you about the worst-case scenario? If sadness keeps reminding you of loss. If frustration urges you to react.

Why would I be present, Ezgi? I have problems to deal with.

I know you do. I have mine too.

But that friend of yours in your head, called fear, is not letting you see things clearly. You can not solve the problem with the same mind that created it. You have to change your state of being.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to essential oil-free versions on the website. We took our power back from beauty, "Our ability to smell", to change our emotional state.

Smell is the only sense that goes straight to the limbic system in the brain, which is deeply involved in emotion, behaviour, and memory. Other senses like sight, sound, touch, and taste first go to the thalamus, a central structure in the brain.

The thalamus acts like a processing hub, sorting and sending signals to the relevant parts of the brain (e.g., the visual cortex for sight).
This extra step creates a kind of "buffer," where the brain organises and filters the information before you are fully aware of it.

Smell is different: It bypasses the Thalamus. When odour molecules are detected by receptors in the nose, they send signals directly to the Olfactory bulb just above the nasal cavity; the first processing centre.

From there, signals go to:
Amygdala – processes emotions, especially fear, pleasure, and stress.
Hippocampus – responsible for forming and retrieving memories.

This direct neural route makes smell faster and more emotionally charged than other senses.

Now, let's go back in time.

The door clicks shut in reverse.
Your feet shuffle backwards down the porch steps, shoes landing exactly where they had stepped just moments before.
You drift backwards toward the hallway.
A flicker of bathroom tile appears.
The mirror that once fogged now clears.
The bathroom holds you, quiet, suspended as if the day never began.

Shall we say goodbye to fear, sadness, and frustration? Let's breathe in the beauty of nature with the Flow Set.

The third step is the Botanical Face Elixir.

Frankincense
Inside the Botanical Face Elixir, Frankincense slows down your breathing and heart rate. Think of it like your body exhaling for the first time all day. Nor fear nor sadness like this. They like the rush. But we won't give them the rush. We will wash them away with peace.

Some studies suggest that Frankincense clears emotional “fog,”. It affects the TRPV3 ion channel, a warmth-detecting cellular receptor in our bodies, much like an emotional sunrise. That's why it has a unique ability to be both soothing and uplifting. Frankincense also deepens spiritual and emotional awareness, encourages a sense of transcendence or connection with self and the spirit.

Lavender
Next to Frankincense, there is lavender; Lavender contains compounds which have natural sedative and anti-anxiety effects.
These compounds interact with receptors in the brain that help slow down the overactive nervous system. The result is a noticeable sense of calm, quiet, and ease. It's like a gentle hand on your shoulder when your mind won’t stop racing. Smelling lavender subconsciously reminds you: “You’re safe. You’re home. You can let go now.” Neither fear nor sadness wants you to be home.

Sweet Orange:
We need some dopamine. Relax in the heart, awake in the brain, is the state we want to be in. Sweet orange increases serotonin and dopamine levels in the brain. It encourages emotional play and creativity. You need the curiosity of your inner child in your day, and sweet orange sparks that energy. It breaks emotional rigidity or over-seriousness. Invites joy, spontaneity, and even laughter. Enhances mental clarity and alertness and helps with emotional focus without creating tension. Think of it like warm sunlight on your face rather than a bright spotlight.

And the Sun Elixir on top of the Face Elixir, we apply.

There is Frankincense and lavender inside, but let's talk about the rest of the oils inside.

Helichrysum
Emotional Wound Healing, oil of emotional scars. Going through grief, old emotional trauma, deep sadness or heartbreak? Helichrysum, it doesn’t just soothe, it helps repair what was broken. It is a go-to oil in trauma therapy (both physical and emotional), known for calming the nervous system after shock, loss, or emotional overwhelm.

Without judgment, she is there to hold your hand. You need to learn to trust again in life. That loss wasn't the end, and Helichrysum knows this. It will help you gain perspective on painful past events. It will move you toward emotional forgiveness, not to excuse harm, but to free yourself from it.

Vetiver
Vetiver, oh vetiver, “oil of tranquillity. My favourite. Vetiver has a deep, root-like energy because it literally comes from the roots. Emotionally, it helps you feel grounded in your body and environment. Reconnects you when you are feeling “floaty” or overwhelmed. Think of it like a “weighted blanket for the nervous system.”

Emotional stability in times of stress or transition. That is vetiver.
When you've been emotionally depleted from caregiving, loss, stress, or chronic survival mode, Vetiver helps rebuild inner emotional endurance, creates a sense of quiet power and inner rootedness, and helps you feel more emotionally self-contained and less reactive.

Damask Rose
Damask Rose "oil of the heart. Those emotional walls were built from past hurts. Damask Rose softens them. Encourages self-compassion, forgiveness, and emotional intimacy. Healing from heartbreak, abandonment, or emotional betrayal.  Like being held when you didn’t know you needed it.

And this is only the Botanical Face Elixir and the Sun Elixir.

Breathe in the scents of nature. Let them turn your fear, sadness, and frustration into love. Emotions. They matter.

Life will happen the moment you step out into the world. If you take your past or your prediction of the future with you out the door, good luck making it out there. You have to start with a clean slate. Every single day. Before you open the door, make sure that the fear or sadness isn't coming with you.

They have been saying it for thousands of years: Present moment.

Mind isn't wandering. You are right here, right now. When you are present, the default mode network is shut down in the brain. The part of the brain that predicts what might happen, and you are ready to welcome the unknown.

The unknown has the magic, the miracle for you. The known, your predictions give you the same life, same problems. Different faces, same problems.

True holistic beauty knows that the mind and the body are united. It's not just healthy skincare for your skin but for your mind as well. Happy humans, humans who are present, humans aren't holding onto the past, predicting the future creates a beautiful society, the new earth everybody talks about.

They do not cause wars either in their life or around them.

Life will happen the moment you step out the door for your own good, for your evolution. But you have the chance to prepare yourself for the unknown every day as you apply your oils.

My mantra, written on my door, on my bathroom mirror, that I read every day:

"I am ready to evolve through beauty. May my path be woven in mercy."

with all my life,
Ezgi
