All of a sudden, enlarged pores on or around your nose, chin, and cheeks. Let's find a way, any way, to force them, shrink them back to their original size.
Hold on a second; we don't do this here!
Your skin is talking to you. There is a message in there. The human who respects and believes themself would stop and listen to the message. Eyes and ears closed to what others say; one would listen to their own body.
First, let's look at why the infinite intelligence placed them on our skin. Why do we have pores?
Pores are small openings in the skin that facilitate the excretion of sebum and sweat.
How does your body regulate temperature?
The temple breathes in and breathes out as the sweat comes out of those pores, keeping you cool. That is why you may have enlarged pores during the summer.
How does your body defend you?
The temple secretes sebum (oil) from the pores to block the elements from the environment coming in. You shall not pass, says the temple that loves you unconditionally, not letting any danger in. Sebum also creates the perfect environment for the skin microbiome to thrive, the galaxy of beneficial bacteria looking after you.
Ageing? That beautiful sebum coming out of those pores is also the messenger carrying all the nutrients from your holistic skincare to the deepest layers of the skin. Sebum keeps the Elastin, collagen, and other elements strong by preventing the absorption of impurities and dirt.
Can we interfere with this process called homeostasis?
Not really. You would lose. You would shoot yourself in the foot. The body is programmed to bring itself back into balance = homeostasis.
That sebum has to come out. That sweat has to come out. That's how your body works.
Do you have enlarged pores?
One reason for the enlarged pores is that the skin is trying to produce more sebum, hence the enlarged pores. But it is struggling. There is some manipulation going on.
Are you letting your skin produce sebum naturally?
We talked about this last week. If your cleanser is anything other than Raw Organic Jojoba, you are interfering with the process. Raw Jojoba mimics sebum so well, a wax, just like your sebum that your body does not understand the difference and won't go into survival mode, producing less sebum or enlarging pores to produce more sebum to bring the oil levels back into balance. The struggle of the body. Even writing this makes me sad.
It doesn't matter how gentle your cleanser is; gentle is a word; there is water in that cleanser. You don't need water. Your skin is nothing but oil. Using the wrong products in the wrong order makes you scared of oils = yourself.
Oil-free, they advertise them as if you = the oil is somehow dirty, trying to convince you to manipulate your biology. Making you think that you are different and sensitive to this and that. Creating nothing but a lack of self-love. But isn't self-care all about creating more love of self?
I always ask myself, "Is this loving to me?" From skincare to life decisions, there is no difference.
Another reason is the loss of "elastin protein", which makes pores look enlarged.
Let's say you use Jojoba, and the messenger is strong enough to take care of the Elastin, but what are the ingredients of your skincare oils, serums, creams, and masks? What are you sending inside? What are you feeding Elastin with?
Water? Isolated chemicals?
If there is a fancy isolated chemical in them, there is water, too. Water brings bacteria, and therefore, they have to include preservatives to stop bacterial growth. But wait, your microbiome is a galaxy of bacteria taking care of you. So, these serums are killing your skin microbiome, too. Just like how eating takeout leads to a decline in the diversity of your gut microbiome, leading to all sorts of problems, from IBS to celiac, you are now prone to skin issues.
Is there water and oils in them? Say welcome to emulsifiers. Try mixing oil with water. It won't. But add an emulsifier, and they mix.
Do you see? The list is growing. I am not even going deep to not bore you.
It all comes down to the same thing, "Going with the flow of your body, simplifying things, giving the body what it wants, nothing more, nothing less."
You can not expect healthy skin if there is manipulation. The solution is not to try and find a way to shrink pores. Are you going with the flow?
Or
Are you fooled by the beauty industry telling you that you have a skin type? One product after another a busy bathroom shelf filled with all sorts of isolated chemicals swimming in water that is called beauty.
You will never see us coming up with different routines for different skin types because there is only one species, one biology, one magnificent human body.
Do you have enlarged pores?
Love yourself
Go with the flow
That is all you need to do...
with all my love,
Ezgi
